Places of Interest Near Lottie-Dell Campground

  • Pomerelle Ski Area - One Hour Away: Pomerelle Mountain Resort is nestled in the Sawtooth National Forest at 8,000 feet. The Southern Idaho resort caters specifically to families (especially those with wee ones) enjoying and learning to ski/board. The groomed 24 slopes are serviced by one triple chair, one double chair, and a brand new 450' Magic Carpet boardwalk lift which offers a vertical drop of 1,000 feet. A wide variety of terrain with extensive "gladed" sweet spots, as well as dispersed terrain features, please both skiers and boarders. Nordic loops are also located adjacent to the resort.
  • City of Rocks National Park - One Hour Away: this unique geologic area became a landmark in 1843 for California-bound emigrants. They left wagon ruts across the landscape and their signature in axle grease on Register Rock, Camp Rock, and many others. A few granite pinnacles and monoliths are in excess of sixty stories tall and 2.5 billion years old. The smooth granite faces offer exceptional rock climbing and today, over 500 climbing routes have been identified.
  • Locomotive Springs - Just 15 Miles Away: Locomotive Springs lies in the midst of some of the driest and least hospitable terrain in Utah, but the contrasting landscapes are part of the experience. Nesting or migrating shorebirds and waterfowl abound on the marshes and open ponds, bounded by the salt flats of the Great Salt Lake. The surrounding country is dry and open, covered with expanses of saltbush. The existing springs have been deepened and diked to benefit waterfowl, as waterfowl production is the purpose of this management area. Here you will find fantastic fishing as well as a little-known resource for birding and animal watching.
  • Stone Reservoir - Just 8 Miles Away: unparalleled boating, water skiing, and fishing available while you enjoy the beautiful landscapes and terrain. The reservoir is at an altitude of 4596 feet, resides in Oneida County in the State of Idaho, and can be found by the latitude and longitude coordinates of 42.0683, -112.6955
  • Golden Spike Monument - Watch the Re-enactment of the Golden Spike Daily: on May 10, 1869, the Union and Central Pacific Railroads joined their rails at Promontory Summit. The historic site commemorates this incredible accomplishment of this nation's first transcontinental railroad. Visitor Center hours are 9am - 5pm daily, MST.
