Dear Bengals,
Welcome to the 30th annual Bengal Foundation Auction. We are grateful you have taken time to be with us this year.
As many of you know, an intercollegiate athletics program can be of tremendous value to an institution. Take for instance Quinton Freeman, an Idaho State University graduate and former student-athlete, who came to Pocatello on an athletic scholarship. Were it not for the athletic aid he accepted he would not have received a college education. Instead he would have remained in the inner-city neighborhoods of southern California. Taking full advantage of his educational opportunities, Quinton graduated from ISU. Recently he moved back to Pocatello and began working as the athletic department’s new academic advisor.
Many of our current and former student-athletes have similar stories about how their athletic financial aid provided them with the opportunity to further their educational opportunities. Many have additional stories, just like Quinton, about how that scholarship steered them to a college degree and subsequently to their careers.
Your involvement in "Bengals Rock and Roll" is a wonderful opportunity to continue support for our amazing student-athletes as we strive to provide more opportunities for them to succeed both in the competitive arena and in the classroom. The ISU Athletic Department continues to add additional scholarships to our teams each year. We proudly announce that two brand new scholarships were added at the beginning of this current year. With your help and support, we plan to do the same next year. Once again I would like to thank you for your dedication to ISU Athletics. I would also like to thank Phil and Bekki Meador and Courtesy Ford for allowing us to use their beautiful facility this evening. Now sit back, wave those bid cards, and have a good time!

Please join us in recognizing our honorary chairs, John and Shannon Engleson. John has been helping with the annual Bengal Foundation Fund Drive making thousands of calls and raising several thousand dollars for scholarships since 1965. John and Shannon are long time members of the Bengal Foundation, Quarterback Club and Cage Club. John was the recipient of the 2010 Colonel Dave Kirkpatrick Award that recognizes a volunteer who goes above and beyond the call of duty of raising funds for the student-athlete scholarships at Idaho State University. We hope you will stop by their table and say Hi.
We appreciate our many donors who gave generously in these tough economic times. Please look for their names throughout this brochure and thank them by supporting their businesses.

JOHN AND SHANNON ENGLESON
HONORARY CHAIRS
The Idaho State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics along with the Bengal Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to recognize John and Shannon Engleson as our honorary auction chairs.
John and Shannon have supported Idaho State University athletics for many years. John moved to Pocatello in 1963 and shortly after became involved in raising scholarship funds for the Bengal Foundation. He has continued to make thousands of calls during the annual fund drive since 1965. John is a real character always gets right to the point and identifies himself as just “Engleson” when he calls. .
John attended the University of Denver where he received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He served in the United States Navy as a 1st Class Quartermaster and witnessed the first hydrogen bomb explode in the Marshall Islands. He worked as a yard clerk for the Great Northern Railway before starting his career as a Certified Public Accountant. John is a partner in Engleson, Capell & Engleson with one of his son’s Loren. John has been a member of the Elks Club for 56 years and is a member of the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce, the Idaho Society of CPAs and the American Institute of A1 CPAs.
The Englesons have three sons and two daughters. Two of their sons are CPAs and one is the CEO of the Oregon Recycling Systems. One daughter is a photographer for an auction house in southern California and one daughter works for SHIBA. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In 1983 John received an award for his volunteer work for the Bengal Foundation at the annual Bennion Banquet award dinner. In January 2010 John received the Colonel David Kirkpatrick award for his many years of service and dedication to the Bengal Foundation and Idaho State University athletics.

- The Bengal Foundation assumes no liability for any of the products or their value.
- Services or trips must be negotiated with the donor for redemption within 20 days. You can make arrangements to use the goods, services or trips at a later date, but that date must be arranged with the donor no later than May 14, 2010. If the deadline is missed, neither the donor nor the Bengal Foundation will be liable for goods or services and no refund will be possible.
- All items must be removed from Courtesy Ford by the end of the evening, April 17, 2010. Larger items can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. the following morning.
- The State Tax Commission has examined this brochure and Idaho State Tax of 6% will be charged on all tangible property (anything you can feel, see or touch).
- Items purchased at this auction may not be deductible. Please check with your tax accountant.
Methods of Payment
- As the successful bidder of an item, an auction runner will bring a form to you to sign indicating what item you bought and the amount of the bid.
- You have the option of paying for each item as you buy them or report to the accounting table when you are ready to leave for your final reconciliation.
- You may pay by Cash, Check, Visa or MasterCard.
